Islam Becomes the Fastest-Growing Religion in Japan

One of the world’s major religions with the highest rate of expansion is considered the religion of Islam. Muslims are the second-largest religious group in the world.

Muslims are more than 24.1% of the world’s population. According to recent estimates, there are roughly 2.9 billion Muslims worldwide, which, by 2050, will accounted for 26% of the global population.

Muslims have grown significantly in number in Japan over the past ten years. The number has more than doubled, based on data provided by Tanada Hirofumi of Waseda University.

According to data from 2010, there were 110,000 Muslims living in Japan. Even so, by the end of 2020, it had risen to close to 330,000, with up to 50,000 more Japanese converts.

In order to effectively present the faith in society, more and more mosques are being constructed, and non-Muslim Japanese people are now giving visits on a regular basis. On the other hand, disputes have come up in a number of places as a result of increasing numbers in mosques across Japan.

Non-Muslim Japanese visitors to the mosques increased, which has shown the interest of people in Japan to learn more about Islam.
