According to ARY News, senior journalist Sami Ibrahim was arrested in Islamabad on Wednesday, as per unnamed sources. The arrest reportedly took place on Seventh Avenue in the federal capital. However, the police in Islamabad have not yet made any official statement regarding this matter. It is worth mentioning that another senior journalist, Imran Riaz Khan, was also arrested earlier on May 11 during protests following the arrest of the PTI chairman.
During a recent court hearing, the Lahore High Court directed the ministries of interior and defence to fulfill their constitutional duties in locating and recovering anchorperson Imran Riaz Khan. The Punjab Inspector General, Dr. Usman Anwar, stated during the hearing that the journalist could not be found in any police department across the country.
