Kane Williamson calls New Zealand’s abrupt withdrawal from the Pakistan tour a “real shame”

Kiwi cricket captain Kane Williamson has described the decision of New Zealand to “truly shameful” from her Pakistani tour expecting to have no “durable effect” on the Pakistani game.

Williamson told a sports broadcaster Saturday, “I don’t know yesterday’s details. It was a sudden call, but clearly a real disgrace. Cricket is a wonderful and so well-supported thing in Pakistan.”

“There’s so much passion, and I think the guys won’t start playing the entire series. I do not know the details, however, because I work for the IPL in Dubai. In the next couple of days, I shall find out a little more about this,” Williamson said, who did not come to Pakistan himself.

Williamson said, “You want the game to play in all the countries, hoping that the move by New Zealand does not impact the future of cricket in Pakistan. It’s an international game and the world is passionate about it, in Pakistan especially.”
