Karachi Kings have appointed former South Africa all-rounder Johan Botha as the head coach for the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) season eight.
Botha replaces Peter Moores, who coached the Kings last season. The 40-year-old has previously served as the head coach of Islamabad United in PSL 6.
Botha had earlier served Karachi Kings as fielding coach in the 2017 and 2020 seasons of the PSL.
“Excited to announce Johan Botha as the Head Coach for the Karachi Kings for #HBLPSL8.” tweeted Karachi Kings on Thursday.
Imad Wasim will lead the Kings. The decision was taken after former captain Babar Azam decided to leave the franchise for Peshawar Zalmi.
Kings won the PSL title in the 2020 edition of the tournament under Imam’s captaincy.
