Karachi Will Become the 4th Biggest City of the World by 2035: US Intelligence Forecast

According to a United States intelligence report released every four years, Karachi is on track to become the world’s fourth largest city in 2035, with a population of 23.1 million. Karachi’s total population is projected to be 14.91 million, putting it in 12th position among the world’s most populated cities, as per UNDP statistics from 2018,

New Delhi, Dhaka, Mumbai, and Calcutta are the other cities that will make up the “Biggest 5” by 2040.

“Our goal is to assist policymakers and people in preparing for a variety of potential futures,” the writers said, adding that they solicited feedback from a variety of groups when putting together the report.

The assessment was included in the US National Intelligence Council’s (NIC) Global Trends report this year, which was created to assist policymakers and people in anticipating the economic, environmental, technological, and demographic forces that will form the world over the next 20 years.
