Karachi Will Soon Receive Additional 450MW of Electricity This Summer: Omar Ayub

Omar Ayub, the Federal Minister for Water, Petroleum, and Natural Resources, said on Saturday that a 220 kV double circuit transmission line measuring 130 km from Jamshoro to KDA-33 would soon be built, adding 450 MW to Karachi grid-stations.

In a statement on Twitter, the minister confirmed that a maximum of 1100 MW of power would be available from the 500 kV and 220 kV networks, as well as 150 MW from wind generation during the summer months from the national grid for KE, significantly improving the city’s power supply role.

He also thanked the NTDC and KE teams for their tireless efforts in meeting the deadlines. In addition, he ensured that load shedding would be alleviated in the upcoming month of Ramazan.
