The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced plans to construct a Holy Quran Palace in Peshawar, aimed at preserving old copies of the Holy Quran. This decision was made during a meeting of the Auqaf and Religious Affairs department held in Peshawar.
Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur directed the Peshawar Development Authority to identify and allocate land for this important project. The Holy Quran Palace will serve as a dedicated facility for the storage and preservation of ancient and valuable copies of the Holy Quran, ensuring their protection for future generations.
In addition to the Holy Quran Palace, Chief Minister Gandapur also instructed the relevant authorities to find suitable land for establishing a government graveyard in Peshawar.
This move is part of the government’s broader efforts to address the city’s growing need for burial space and to ensure that adequate facilities are available for the respectful interment of the deceased.
The construction of the Holy Quran Palace reflects the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s commitment to preserving religious and cultural heritage. By creating a dedicated space for the safekeeping of old and rare copies of the Holy Quran, the government aims to honor and protect these important religious texts.
The project is expected to attract scholars, researchers, and religious devotees, further enhancing Peshawar’s cultural and religious significance.
Meanwhile, the establishment of a government graveyard will provide a much-needed solution to the city’s burial space issues. The new graveyard will be designed to meet the needs of the local population, ensuring that everyone has access to a dignified final resting place.
These initiatives underscore the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s dedication to both preserving cultural heritage and addressing practical community needs.
The Holy Quran Palace and the new government graveyard are set to become significant landmarks in Peshawar, reflecting the region’s rich history and commitment to public service.
