Mercedes’ Designo customising programme includes a wide choice of shades. But this particular shade of tennis-ball yellow is not one of them. That is because this one-of-a-kind AMG GT 4-Door was designed to honour tennis legend Roger Federer’s retirement. He has recently revealed on social media.
Federer is expected to play his final match at the Laver Cup. A team game conducted in London and sponsored by Mercedes-Benz.
In addition to the colour, the AMG GT will bear Federer’s “RF” emblem. It is the top-tier AMG model, the new GT63 S E-Performance hybrid, which combines a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V-8 with an electric motor on the rear axle for startling performance ratings.
His retirement decision follows the announcement of Serena Williams’ announcement last month that she is “evolving” away from tennis.
