Microsoft is launching its Own Chips for Surface Devices

Microsoft competes against its biggest rivals and is rumored to be working as its own ARM-based silicon that is just like Apple. The ARM-based processors will be used in the servers for Microsoft’s Azure cloud services and Surface laptops.

Microsoft uses the Intel processors for the Azure cloud services and their majority of Surface laptops. Recently, the company has partnered with AMD and the Qualcomm to provide a computer chip for their Surface Pro X, Surface Laptop 3 and also some other devices that shows intentions to move far from Intel.

Moreover, if the recent development of the company turns out to be true than it could be a major blow for the Intel, especially like since Intel’s server chips that are currently ruling in the server market. Intel has the majority of shares when it comes to the consumer PC chips. AMD also has been a successful chipping away in the market with its own processors.

The Verge that has reached out to Microsoft for the comment on this rumor and the company did not even deny it that means it is going to happen. Frank Shaw, the Microsoft’s communications chief said that silicon is the foundation building block that is for technology and we are continuing the investment in our own capable areas like the manufacturing, designing, and other tools while we also foster and strengthen the partnership with the other chip providers that are in wide range.
