When compared to the same period last year, the import of mobile phones into the country increased by 63.98 percent in the first ten months of the current fiscal year (2020-21).
According to the latest data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), Pakistan imported mobile phones worth $1684.988 million in July-April (2020-21) compared to $1027.585 million in July-April (2019-20), a 63.98 percent increase.
In the meantime, mobile phone imports increased by 212.88 percent year over year in April 2021 as compared to the same month of the previous year.
The value of mobile phone imports into the country in April 2021 was $148.991 million, compared to $47.619 million in April 2020.
According to the data, mobile phone imports decreased by 33.64 percent month over month in April 2021, compared to imports of US $224.503 million in March 2021.
