Mohammad Hasnain suspended from all of cricket after bowling action is found illegal

After a bowling examination revealed that his right arm exceeds the permissible 15-degree limit, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) suspended Quetta Gladiators pacer Mohammad Hasnain from further participation in the ongoing seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) as well as any form of international cricket on Friday.

Umpires reported Hasnain’s bowling action during a Big Bash League match between Sydney Thunder and Adelaide Strikers on January 2.

He was then evaluated at a biomechanics laboratory authorised by the International Cricket Council in Lahore, just before flying back to Pakistan to perform in the PSL.

“Until Hasnain clears his reassessment under the Illegal Bowling Action Regulations, he will remain suspended from bowling in international cricket,” the PCB stated in a statement.

The cricket body stated that it had received an official and detailed report from Cricket Australia on Hasnain’s assessment test, and that the “issue can be remedied,” according to its bowling experts.
