Gold prices in Pakistan dropped sharply on Wednesday, September 2, with the price of 24 karat gold falling by Rs. 11,300 per tola. According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), gold reached Rs. 454,036 per tola.
The price of 10 grams of gold also declined by Rs. 9,688, bringing it down to Rs. 389,262. This came after another Rs. 800 per tola decrease on Tuesday, when gold was priced at Rs. 465,336.
The fall followed a sharp decline in international gold prices. Global gold prices dropped by $113 to around $4,315 per ounce. A stronger US dollar and changing expectations about US interest rates have put pressure on gold prices.
Silver also became cheaper in Pakistan, falling Rs. 270 to Rs. 6,859 per tola.
