More Than 12,000 Workers Participated in Building the World’s Tallest Building “Burj Khalifa”

12,000 workers were involved at any time during the construction of the Burj khalifa. Total 22 million man hours utilized to complete the project.

World’s three largest cranes were utilized in its construction, each was able to lift round 25 tonnes of load. It took around 6 years to complete from excavation to delivery, about a year more than originally planned.

The project is designed to have upto 10,000 people at a moment. While, the water system supplies around 1 million litres of water through 100 km of pipes each single day.

Furthermore, there are also 213 km of piping dedicated to the fire emergency system, and 34 km utilized to provide chilled water for the building’s air-conditioning system.

Total of 57 elevators and 8 escalators are installed in the building and a stairwell which consists of total 2,909 steps all the way to the top.

All the required equipment for the project’s maintainance is Installed in each 30 floors, whereas total of 4,500 keys used by the building’s security staff.
