Nayatel CEO “Wahaj Siraj” Appeal to Government to Restore the Internet

The prolonged shutdown of internet services can result in a huge loss for IT industry. Amidst the major political unrest across the country after Imran Khan’s arrest and outburst of violence from the protestors, there is a complete suspension of internet services in some regions, while restricted access to major social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.

Speaking up on the current situation, the CEO of Nayatel, Wahaj Siraj took to his Facebook account appealing the government to restore the internet service. He stated “Don’t kill IT and Software Industry and make thousands more jobless”. It is expected that Internet shutdown can cause a huge loss of around 1 billion and can result in many software and IT workers being jobless.

With major youth relying on online services and freelancing platforms, the internet outage can be a significant economic loss in the midst of rising inflation and poor economic state of the country. It has yet to be seen as when and how the uncertainty will be dealt by the government.
