The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), one of the country’s leading and largest banks, has announced a job vacancy for the position of Finance and Accounting Officer (OG-II/OG-I) at its Financial Control department based in Karachi. Job Details
The Finance and Accounting Officer will report directly to the Wing Head-Finance. The role requires a minimum of a graduation degree or equivalent from a local or international university/college/institute recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). Candidates with a Master’s Degree or relevant professional qualifications such as CA Inter/ACCA/ACMA will be given preference.
Experience and Skills
Applicants must have a minimum of three years of experience in finance and/or accounts, preferably in a financial institution. The bank seeks candidates with a good understanding of business and financial acumen, excellent business communication and analytical skills, and proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. A basic understanding of Power BI is also desirable. The role requires a detail-oriented individual with a high level of accuracy.
Main Responsibilities
The primary duties of the Finance and Accounting Officer include:
- Assisting in the preparation of the bank’s budgets and financial statements.
- Preparing trial balance and management accounts on a monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual basis.
- Performing analytical reviews of various accounting heads and preparing reports.
- Managing records and receipts of payment-related vouchers.
- Identifying and resolving invoice discrepancies and monitoring payments against budgetary limits.
- Corresponding with groups/divisions for the collection and analysis of financial data.
- Coordinating with external and internal audit teams to ensure timely closure of audit findings.
- Handling State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) reporting matters and preparing relevant data and reports.
- Performing any other tasks assigned by supervisors.
