“Never Thought I Would Play Such a Mega Event Like Asia Cup”: Zaman Khan

Pakistan’s promising right-arm fast bowler, Zaman Khan, is buzzing with enthusiasm as he gears up for the upcoming Super 4 Asia Cup clash against Sri Lanka. Being part of such a prestigious event was a dream he never dared to imagine.

Zaman’s call-up to the Asia Cup squad came as a replacement for Naseem Shah, who sustained a shoulder injury in a match against India. Another key bowler, Haris Rauf, was also sidelined due to an injury, raising concerns for Pakistan’s pace attack. To shore up their bowling options, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) wisely summoned Shahnawaz Dahani and the young Zaman Khan.

At the tender age of 22, Zaman has rapidly risen to prominence in Pakistan’s cricket landscape, primarily due to his stellar performances for Lahore Qalandars in this year’s Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Reflecting on his selection for the national team, Zaman expressed his joy, stating, “I never thought that I would be part of the squad. It is a great honor for me to represent Pakistan in the Asia Cup.”

The young pacer, who recently made his T20 debut, is eagerly looking forward to reuniting with his fellow players after a considerable time apart.
