Ghandhara Nissan Limited (GHNL) intends to enter the sport utility vehicle (SUV) market in the near future.
Asim Ayaz, Manager Policy at the Engineering Development Board (Ministry of Commerce), acknowledged to The Express Tribune that Ghandhara Nissan was entering the SUV market.
According to Arif Habib Limited car expert Arsalan Hanif, the auto manufacturer has partnered with Chery Automobile Company and is set to introduce its first SUV, the Chery Tiggo 8, in September.
Mashood Ali, former president of the Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts and Accessories Manufacturers (Paapam), said, “It is wonderful news for the Pakistani market.” “All players are gravitating towards SUVs because of the auto policy,” he noted.
Chery Automobile is a Chinese state-owned company that produces primarily passenger cars, minivans, and SUVs. It was founded in 1997.
Arrizo and Fulwin sedans were also available, according to Hanif, but the brand was known for its SUVs.
“There is a great demand for SUVs in Pakistan, and they will give other SUV players a hard time because they are bringing Tiggo 8 in the price range of Rs4 million to Rs4.5 million with the most up-to-date features,” he said.
