Now You Can Fly from Switzerland to Italy Without Taking a Plane

Travel from Switzerland to Italy now via a cable car ride, with the most picturesque view to behold throughout the journey.

The cable car ride is Europe’s highest-altitude border crossing passing over the breathtaking Theodul Glacier. The total journey is approximately 1.5 hours, connecting from the Swiss Ski Resort of Zermatt to the Italian Resort of Cervinia. However, it involves several cable car changes at stations made at several locations.

The Matterhorn Alpine Crossing links existing cable car stations, Kelin Matterhorn station in Switzerland at 3,800 meters altitude and Testa Grigia in Italy at 3,460 meters, and is the last linking stretch. A return ticket for the whole ride costs up to $267.

The cable cars are designed by the Italian firm Pininfarina and are specifically made to be used in urban settings as well, offering safe and accessible transport for everyone including women, people with disabilities, and those from low-income backgrounds.

So on your next Europe trip, do not forget to behold this amazing traveling experience.
