According to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority’s most recent estimates, cellular subscriptions have surpassed 183 million in Pakistan (PTA). Broadband connections have now surpassed 101 million, with 98 million of those being 3G and 4G.
Jazz continues to lead the cellular market share with 37.80 percent of subscribers, followed by Telenor Pakistan with 26.71 percent, Zong with 21.90 percent, Ufone with 12.81 percent, and SCO with 0.77 percent. By the end of March 2021, the number of obsolete 3G users had fallen from 25.2 million in December 2020 to 24 million.
Jazz contributed 46 percent of the 8 million new 4G subscribers added in this year, led by Telenor Pakistan 23 percent, Zong 22 percent, Ufone 6 percent, and SCO 1.9 percent.
4G subscribers increased from 66 million to 74 million during the reporting period. Jazz now has the most 4G subscribers, with 28.86 million, followed by Zong with 22.49 million, Telenor Pakistan with 16.10 million, Ufone with 6 million, and SCO with 0.7 million.
