OGRA Proposes Rs 5.25 Increase in Petrol Price

Fuel prices are set to rise by Rs5.25 per liter on October 1, according to sources who cited an oil and gas regulatory authority (OGRA) plan that was delivered to the Finance Division on Wednesday.

The price of diesel is expected to rise by Rs3.5 per liter, according to the sources, who also stated that the Ministry of Finance would make a final decision on the matter after consulting with Prime Minister Imran Khan.

On September 15, the government announced a Rs5 rise in the price of gasoline, citing “variations in petroleum costs in the international market as well as variances in the exchange rate.”
