Oppo has not yet launched the foldable smartphone; however, the company has been filing patents for a while now. As most of them are usually generic, and there is not a lot of its information about technology as the smartphone maker plans on using it.
The patents were filed by Guangdong the Oppo Mobile Telecommunications Corp Ltd. with the Japan Patent Office (JPO) on the date of May 11 of this year.
The four patents by the company Oppo surfaced on the internet recently. The smartphones mentioned in the recent patents feature a weird design in 4 patents because it makes them look like a chocolate bar’s shape.
Patent 1
The first patent details are of the design of a smartphone with six blocks and two hinges. The phone folds direction inwards and comes with a dual-camera setup and an LED flashlight at the bottom.
Patent 2
The second patent refers to a smartphone with two hinges and six blocks. And this one has a triple camera unique setup with an LED flash located at the back of the phone instead of on the front. However, it folds both ways inwards and outward.
Patent 3
The third smartphone patent has a total of eight blocks and two hinges. There are no visible type cameras; hence, it most likely has the in-display cameras.
Patent 4
This smartphone also has a total of eight blocks and two hinges. It folds inwards and also sports a triple camera setup on the back of the phone that is accompanied by an LED flash.
