Over 860,000 Hajj Pilgrims have So far Arrived in Saudi Arabia: Minister

Saudi Arabia has announced that it is fully prepared for this year’s Hajj season, with more than 860,000 pilgrims already arriving through air, land, and sea routes.

Officials said the country has put in place advanced systems and services to manage the large number of pilgrims smoothly and safely. Several government ministers shared details of the preparations, highlighting the use of modern technology and improved facilities for visitors.

One of the key features this year is the use of artificial intelligence to help manage crowds and improve movement in holy sites. The country has also expanded its 5G network coverage to ensure better communication and connectivity for pilgrims during their stay.

Authorities also introduced the “Makkah Route” initiative, which is designed to simplify travel procedures before pilgrims arrive in Saudi Arabia. Another major service called “Pilgrim Without a Bag” has been launched to speed up processing times.

Officials said this system has reduced processing time from around 120 minutes to just 15 minutes, making the arrival process much faster and easier.

To support health and safety, more than 52,000 healthcare workers have been deployed across different locations. In addition, around 3,000 ambulances are on standby to respond to emergencies, while nearly 88,000 sanitation workers are working to maintain cleanliness in holy areas.

Officials confirmed that there are currently no major epidemic concerns and said that health conditions are stable for pilgrims. They added that Saudi Arabia has strong experience in managing large religious gatherings and continues to improve its systems every year.

Authorities emphasized that all arrangements are focused on ensuring safety, comfort, and smooth movement for pilgrims, while maintaining high standards of organization during the Hajj season.
