The anchor of ARY News’ popular show Sar-e-Aam, Iqrarul Hassan, and his team were beaten up by Intelligence Bureau (IB) officials for exposing the corruption of an IB Inspector with video evidence.
Iqrarul Hassan and his team were beaten up by IB officers after they discovered an official collecting money during a sting operation in Karachi’s Orangi area during which they spotted an official taking money during door-to-door NADRA verification, according to the details.
The Sar-e-Aam anchor and his colleagues were kidnapped and tortured by officers from the civilian intelligence organisation.
Iqrarul Hassan was sent to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital right afterwards, where he received sutures and first-aid treatment. Basic medical treatment has been completed, according to doctors, and his condition is no longer in jeopardy.
