In the 2023 Military Strength Index, Pakistan’s army has improved its position and now ranks seventh out of 145 countries. This shows that Pakistan’s armed forces have gotten better compared to their 15th position in 2020. Over the past three years, Pakistan’s army has gradually moved up in the rankings, going from 10th to 9th place before reaching its current 7th position.
The index assesses each country’s abilities in land, sea, and air warfare using traditional methods. The top four spots in the ranking are held by the United States, Russia, China, and India. Above Pakistan, the United Kingdom and South Korea have higher positions. Turkey’s military is ranked 11th, while Australia is in the 16th position. Pakistan’s neighboring country, Iran, is placed at 17th rank.
The Military Strength Index examines various factors such as the number of personnel, equipment, natural resources, finances, and geography to provide a comprehensive analysis of modern military powers. It considers over 60 different factors to determine the final rankings.
