It has a long history, dating back to 1959, and is known for its world-class evaluation criteria. This competition is organized in Wales, UK, and it serves as NATO’s most demanding patrolling assessment.
In the latest edition of the Cambrian Patrol, a total of 113 teams participated, and this included teams from various countries.
These international teams came from diverse nations, such as the UK, Pakistan, India, Saudi Arabia, Albania, Germany, Armenia, France, Denmark, Mexico, and many others.
Some of these military units have a rich historical legacy spanning over 200 years.
The team that represented Pakistan in this competition was the 67 Punjab Regiment. The leadership of Lieutenant Awais Usman, along with the support of Team Manager Major Osama and Observer Major Haseeb, was crucial in the team’s success.
The Cambrian Patrol competition is a grueling 48-hour tactical endurance exercise that covers a vast 60-kilometer area. It challenges the participating teams in various battle drills and combat techniques.
These challenges include tasks like casualty evacuation, crossing water gaps, section attacks, close target reconnaissance, and counter-explosive ordnance, among others.
By achieving the silver medal in this prestigious competition, the Pakistan Army demonstrated its exceptional tactical skills, physical endurance, and teamwork on an international stage.
This accomplishment highlights the high level of training and competence within the Pakistan Army and brings pride to the nation.
