Earlier, Pakistan rolled Bangladesh for 193 in only 38.4 overs thanks to a clinical performance from Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah. Rauf stood up as Pakistan’s best bowler, claiming four wickets in as many overs.
After only 5.4 overs, Naseem had already taken three wickets. Only Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim were able to score runs against Pakistan’s ferocious pace. The fifth-wicket partnership was worth 100 runs, with both players smashing their 50s. Both Shakib and Mushfiqur were sent packing, Shakib for 53 (57) and Mushfiqur for 64 (87).
