Pakistan Beats Bangladesh in Asia Cup Super 4 Clash

On Wednesday in the Asia Cup in Lahore, Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by seven wickets thanks to an impressive team effort. Pakistan reached their target of 194 runs in 39.3 overs thanks to the stellar batting of Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Rizwan, who both went back to the pavilion unbroken on 63 (79). Imam, on the other hand, made 78 (84), he and Rizwan put up a crucial third-wicket stand of 74 runs. 

However, Pakistan’s captain Babar Azam struggled with the bat and was bowled out for 17 (22) by Taskin Ahmed but he has become the fastest captain to complete 2,000 runs in ODI Pakistan skipper completed the 2,000 runs in 31 innings, breaking the record of former Indian captain Virat Kohli, who took 36 innings to reach the milestone.

Earlier, Pakistan rolled Bangladesh for 193 in only 38.4 overs thanks to a clinical performance from Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah. Rauf stood up as Pakistan’s best bowler, claiming four wickets in as many overs. 

After only 5.4 overs, Naseem had already taken three wickets. Only Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim were able to score runs against Pakistan’s ferocious pace. The fifth-wicket partnership was worth 100 runs, with both players smashing their 50s. Both Shakib and Mushfiqur were sent packing, Shakib for 53 (57) and Mushfiqur for 64 (87).
