‘Pakistan Can Still Beat Australia’: Hafeez

After Pakistan’s significant 360-run loss to Australia in the first Test at Perth, Team Director Mohammad Hafeez expressed confidence in the squad’s skills but pointed out the disappointing execution of plans.

Hafeez believes in the team’s ability to beat Australia on their home ground but admitted to a failure in applying themselves and carrying out strategies effectively. He emphasized the team’s tactical errors and missed opportunities during crucial moments.

In their attempt to chase a target of 450 runs, Pakistan struggled and collapsed for a mere 89 runs. Australia’s pace attack, led by Nathon Lyon, quickly dismantled the visitors, securing a clear victory within four days. This defeat halted Pakistan’s efforts to secure a Test win in Australia since 1995.
