A special pÅwhiri, a customary Maori welcome ceremony, was arranged at Auckland’s Eden Park to greet both the Pakistan and New Zealand teams. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) shared visuals of this warm reception on various social media platforms.
Following their Test series against Australia, the Pakistan squad arrived in Auckland from Sydney on Tuesday. The highly anticipated five-match T20I series against New Zealand is scheduled to kick off on January 12.
This series holds significance as it marks Shaheen Shah Afridi’s debut as the captain of the Pakistan team, with Mohammad Rizwan appointed as his deputy.
