Pakistan Experiences Slow Internet as Submarine Cable Goes Offline

As per reports, IMEWE submarine cable is down which has halted a large portion of Pakistan’s data transmission.

While IMEWE is not the only submarine cable linking Pakistan to the world, it has affected a large portion of Pakistan’s internet traffic by going offline. It was in charge for carrying a main section of bandwidth.

The failure of the IMEWE submarine cable could cause the internet service in Pakistan to degrade. However, in cases of such accidents, as the demand is higher so it negatively impacts the internet connection by reducing speed. Thus, ISPs come in to balance the shortcoming.

Pakistan has numerous cables connecting it to the whole world, but IMEWE-3 is the one with the highest traffic, nearly 20% of its bandwidth.
