Pakistan failed to hit a single six in T20 for the first time in 8 years

Pakistan had a forgettable match in the ongoing tri-series today against New Zealand. The Babar-Azam-led side was comprehensively beaten by the hosts at the Hagley Oval In Christchurch.

Pakistan could only put up a paltry total of 130 which New Zealand chased down with minimal fuss. Iftikhar Ahmed was the leading run-scorer with 27-run-knock while Asia Ali scored 25 and remained unbeaten. No batter from the touring party could hit a six in the innings and there were 15 fours hit by the batters. Pakistan, as a result, have bagged the record of not hitting a maximum in an innings in New Zealand.

This is the first instance of not being able to hit a six in over 77 T20Is played in the country. This is after eight years that the Pakistan team didn’t manage to hit a six in an innings of a T20I game. The last time it happened against Australia in Dubai was back in 2014.
