Pakistan Government approves Rs. 2 billion for Airport Security Force at New Gwadar Airport

The ECC (Economic Coordination Committee) recently approved an extra funding of Rs. 250 million for the Airport Security Force to cover the shortfall in its expenses.

Due to a deficiency of Rs. 637.927 million in the current fiscal year, less than Rs. 700 million in funds were initially provided from actual need.

The Aviation Division utilized Rs. 879.196 million of the assigned budgets of Rs. 1,483 million as of December 31, 2021, accounting for 59.28% of the entire budget. The division’s remaining balance is Rs. 603.805 million.

The Airports Security Force would get a total of Rs. 2 billion from the ECC (ASF).

The ASF had requested Rs. 700.725 million for ammunition purchases at the New Gwadar International Airport (NGIA), which is set to open in August 2022.

In addition, the force has requested an additional Rs. 1,695.566 million to cover a shortfall in employee-related expenditures caused by lower funding and new hires.
