Pakistan Improves its Score from 50 to 75 points on WBL Index

Pakistan has improved its score on the entrepreneurship indicator of the Woman, Company and the Law (WBL) index from 50 to 75 points, according to the WBL Report 2021.

The rise is largely due to reforms introduced by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), which make it easier for women to register businesses.

The WBL Study is a World Bank publication that assesses the laws and regulations of 190 countries in order to identify obstacles to women’s economic opportunities.

The report covers eight wide areas, including mobility, workplace, compensation, marriage, parenthood, entrepreneurship, assets and pension.
