Pakistan Joins Chinese Project to Build Research Station on Moon’s South Pole

Pakistan has joined China’s lunar research station project, which aims to create a research station on the moon’s south pole. The agreement was signed in Beijing and witnessed by Pakistan’s caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar and Chinese Premier Li Qiang.

This collaboration, announced by the China National Space Administration, covers various aspects of the Chinese lunar base program, including engineering and operations.

China, aiming to be a major player in space by 2030, has already received support from countries like Russia, Venezuela, and South Africa. Their goal is to land astronauts on the moon by the end of this decade.

The timeline for building a lunar outpost at the south pole aligns with NASA’s Artemis program, which aims to return US astronauts to the moon’s surface by December 2025, barring potential delays.
