After the notable drop in the cellphone smuggling in Pakistan the mobile phone assembly segment has grown rapidly and has produced over 1.21 million phones in a very short span of time of just two months from January to February in 2021 and it has been recorded as a drastic change in the market.

However, as per the sources the output of this tenure is higher than 119,639 mobile-phones that were assembled in the entire year of 2019.

As per the official statement issued by PTA, the implementation of the DIRBS- Device Identification Registration and Blocking System in 2019 has led to significant increase in the legal imports of the mobile devices and phones.

Moreover, PTA has also highlighted that recently it has issued a Mobile Device Manufacturing Regulation by following a large number of applicants regarding the mobile device manufacturing.
