Pakistan Railway to Build 105 km Rail Line Linking Thar Coal Mines to Port Qasim

Pakistan Railways is planning to build a 105-kilometer rail line that will connect Thar Coal mines to Port Qasim, with the goal of finishing the project by October 2025. This new rail line is designed to improve bulk transportation within the country, which will help support Pakistan’s economic growth.

The rail link will start from Islamkot and extend to Chhor, making it easier to transport coal to other parts of Pakistan. By doing this, it will provide a cheaper fuel option for industries such as cement and textiles, which are important to the country’s economy.

The project is being undertaken as a partnership between the Sindh government and the federal government. It aligns with broader national goals to strengthen infrastructure and boost economic activity.

The connection between the Thar coal mines and Port Qasim will not only make coal transportation more efficient but also help industries save on costs, ultimately benefiting the country’s overall development.

This project is a key step towards making sure that Pakistan has a reliable and affordable supply of energy to support its growing industries.
