On Friday, Pakistan’s federal education minister, Rana Tanveer Hussain, announced that O-level textbooks containing inappropriate content have been confiscated. The minister further assured that both A and O-level textbooks will be thoroughly reviewed in the future to prevent such content from being included.
Last month, the Pakistan education minister said they were removing inappropriate content from O-level textbooks. Two senators had complained about a chapter on “Same Sex Families” in the O-level books. They said the material was unacceptable and against Islamic values in Pakistan. The minister promised the Senate they would fix this and carefully check A and O-level books in the future.
