Pakistan Signs Deal to Avoid $11 billion Penalty in Reko Diq Case.

The authorities claimed to have prevented an $11 billion penalty in the Reko Diq case by establishing a task aimed towards extracting huge gold and copper riches from the Balochistan area.

The federal and Balochistan governments, as well as Antofagasta PLC and Barrick Gold Corporation, have secured an agreement in the principle on a framework for resurrecting the Reko Diq project mission and a roadmap for Antofagasta to escape it.

The signing event was being witnessed through Prime Minister Imran Khan. During his speech at the occasion, he said his optimism that the investment will be the beginning of a wave of huge-scale investments in Balochistan that would enhance the province’s citizens’ quality of life.
