Pakistan and Uzbekistan have agreed to jointly produce a historical short film based on the life of Mughal Empire founder Zahiruddin Muhammad Babur, marking a new step in cultural cooperation between the two countries. The announcement was made by Pakistan’s Information and Broadcasting Minister, Attaullah Tarar, who stated that the project will focus on Babur’s early years, his journey through Central and South Asia, and the lasting impact of his rule on the region’s history and culture.
According to officials, creative and cultural teams from Pakistan and Uzbekistan will soon begin virtual consultations to finalize the film’s production framework, storyline, and artistic direction. The project is expected to showcase shared historical connections while promoting a deeper understanding of the heritage that links both nations.
In addition to the short film, the two countries are also working on a documentary highlighting recent high-level diplomatic engagements and bilateral cooperation initiatives. Authorities believe these productions will serve as an important platform for cultural exchange, strengthening people-to-people connections and celebrating the historical ties that have connected Pakistan and Uzbekistan for centuries. Through cinema and storytelling, both nations aim to preserve and promote their shared legacy for audiences at home and abroad.
