Pakistan Won by 5 Wickets Against NZ

At the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi on Thursday, Pakistan beat New Zealand by five wickets to win their 500th ODI match.

The Men in Green are now the third team to accomplish this goal in the world. After 949 50-over games, the Green Shirts reached the milestone.

Pakistan earlier chose to bowl first after winning the toss.

Earlier, New Zealand set Pakistan a 289-run target. Will Young, the Kiwis’ opening batsman, made a solid start as they scored 86 runs off of 78, but Chad Bowes could not hold on for too long before being removed by Haris Rauf at 18.

Daryl Mitchel’s magnificent hit of 113 off 115, helping the team to build a competitive total for Team Green, helped offset the early deficit.

Mark Champan scored 15 runs, while Tom Lotham contributed 20 runs.

Fakhar Zaman scored his eleventh ODI century to lead Pakistan to a five-wicket victory against New Zealand.

The left-handed opener Fakhar scored 117 off 114 balls to lead Pakistan to 291-5 with more than an over remaining and take a 1-0 series lead.

Imam-ul-Haq, who started with Fakhar, contributed to a century opening stand by hitting 60, while skipper Babar Azam added 49 as Pakistan led the run chase.

Pakistan has won 92 One Day Internationals (ODI) against Sri Lanka, 73 against India, 63 against the West Indies, 57 against New Zealand, 54 against Zimbabwe, 34 against Australia, and 32 against England and Bangladesh.
