Pakistani Woman Climber Naila Kiani Makes History By Summiting Mount Everest

Naila Kiani, a Pakistani mountaineer, accomplished a remarkable feat on Sunday as she successfully reached the summit of Mount Everest. This achievement not only made her the second woman from Pakistan to conquer the world’s highest peak, following in the footsteps of Samina Baig in 2013, but also marked her as the first non-Nepalese climber to scale Mount Everest this season.

In addition to her historic ascent, Kiani holds the distinction of being the only Pakistani woman to have conquered five eight-thousanders, which include K2, Gasherbrum I and II, and Annapurna I in Nepal. Her passion for mountaineering is complemented by her diverse skills and roles, as she is not only a mountaineer but also a boxer and a banker based in Dubai.

With her sights set on new challenges, Kiani now aims to conquer Lhotse, the fourth tallest mountain in Nepal, further demonstrating her unwavering determination and commitment to pushing her boundaries.

Kiani gained significant recognition in 2018 when her wedding photoshoot at K2 Basecamp went viral on social media, showcasing her adventurous spirit and love for the mountains. Since then, she has continued to inspire and captivate audiences with her extraordinary mountaineering accomplishments.

As Naila Kiani adds another remarkable milestone to her mountaineering journey, she serves as a beacon of inspiration for aspiring climbers and women across Pakistan and beyond. Her indomitable spirit and relentless pursuit of her dreams truly embody the spirit of adventure and perseverance.
