Pakistan’s Exports Expected to Increase through Amazon Centre

After adding Pakistan into official sellers list by Amazon, its first Fulfillment & Facilitation Centre is about to establish and start in Multan soon.

As per the sources, it was decided to open Amazon’s Facilitation center after Eid ul Azha, through which small and medium businesses (SMEs) would be permitted to sell their products globally and it is expected that this step would help in boosting country’s exports.

The establishing of the Amazon Facilitation Centre & the foundation of the National Export Development Board in accordance with the presidency of PM Imran Khan, besides the market launch of the Export Facilitation Scheme 2021, will help in enhancing the Pakistan’s exports & to expand its economy.

According to the data provided by PBS (Pakistan Bureau of Statistics), Pakistan had faced a trade deficit during the current fiscal year, and to manage this shortfall, the country needs to increase its exports and have to maintain its imports.

The provided information of PBS showed that Pakistan’s goods exports during the fiscal year 2020-21 has increased by 18% from $21.4 billion a year prior to $25.3 billion this year, while the imports also rose from $44.5 billion a year earlier to $56.3 billion this financial year, generating a trade shortfall of $31 billion.

According to the official sources, the establishment of Amazon center in Multan would have immediate good impact on country’s exports, as SMEs could market their products internationally. And as a result, it could minimize the trade shortfall.
