PCB ‘Allowed’ Amir to Travel with Personal Trainer to US, Ireland, UK

During the T20 World Cup 2024, Pakistan’s fast bowler Mohammed Amir traveled with his personal trainer. Even though the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) helped arrange this, Amir paid for it himself. He chose to have separate training sessions with his personal trainer instead of working with the team trainer.

This decision is seen as one of the reasons for Pakistan’s poor performance and early exit from the tournament.

One of the key moments that highlighted Amir’s impact was during a critical match where he conceded 18 runs in the Super Over. This costly performance led to an unexpected loss to the United States, which was a major upset.

Moreover, it wasn’t just Amir’s actions that caused issues. Other players, such as Mohammad Rizwan, Fakhar Zaman, and Babar Azam, brought family members along to the tournament. The presence of family members created distractions for the players, impacting their focus and performance on the field.

Additionally, the players were involved in parties and gatherings after their matches. These social activities further disrupted their concentration and preparation. All these factors combined are seen as significant reasons for the struggles and disappointing results faced by the Pakistan team during the T20 World Cup 2024.
