Peshawar Overtakes Lahore & Karachi, Becomes Most Polluted City in the World

In a concerning development, Peshawar has earned the unfortunate title of the world’s most polluted city, with an air quality index (AQI) of 324 on Wednesday.

Following closely, Lahore ranks as the second most polluted city globally, with an AQI of 269. The severity of air quality is evident in several regions around Lahore, reaching an AQI of 400. Recommendations include the use of face masks, especially for cyclists and pedestrians, to mitigate the impact of smog.

Unnecessary travel is advised against due to worsening smog conditions, leading to the closure of motorways in Punjab and KPK to prevent accidents.
