Petrol Prices Drop by Rs. 0.5 Per Litre, New Price Rs.255.63 Per Litre

The Pakistani government has announced a decrease in fuel prices, which will take effect from February 16, 2025. The decision aims to provide relief to the public following changes in global oil prices.

According to the latest update, the price of high-speed diesel (HSD), which is widely used in agriculture and transportation, has been reduced by Rs4 per litre. The new price of HSD is now Rs263.95 per litre.

Petrol prices have also been lowered by Rs1 per litre, bringing the new rate to Rs256.13 per litre. This reduction is expected to benefit motorists and everyday consumers.

Other fuel types, including kerosene and light diesel, have also seen price cuts. Kerosene, often used for cooking and heating in areas without access to natural gas, has been reduced by Rs5 per litre.

It will now be available at Rs171.65 per litre. Similarly, light diesel, commonly used in small machinery and generators, has also been reduced by Rs5 per litre, bringing its price down to Rs155.81 per litre.

These adjustments have been made based on recommendations from the Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and reflect fluctuations in the international oil market. The new prices will remain in effect for the next two weeks.

This reduction in fuel prices is expected to ease financial pressure on transporters, businesses, and households. Lower fuel costs may also contribute to a decrease in transportation expenses, which could have a positive impact on the prices of essential goods and services.
