Prime Minister Imran Khan unveiled Pakistan’s first smart forest in Rakh Jhok Forest, Sheikhupura, as part of the Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project, which he claims will address a slew of challenges, provide $40 billion to the economy, and generate one million employment.
The smart forest project, according to Radio Pakistan, will be powered by sensors and a surveillance system.
The premier spoke at the event and emphasized the importance of the smart forest. He stated, “We need to make Pakistan a better country for our future generations.”
According to the prime minister, he has witnessed widespread forest devastation in the country, which has had a negative influence on wildlife. He went on to say that Allah has provided Pakistan with a wealth of resources that must be safeguarded.
The premier, speaking at the inauguration of the forest, called the Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project “one of the biggest undertakings in Pakistan’s history,” and one that will help the country handle environmental and other concerns.
