For the first time in history, Pakistan will host World Environment Day 2021, with Prime Minister Imran Khan leading a climate change conference on June 4 to highlight the country’s successful policy in this country.
The theme of this year’s World Environment Day, co-sponsored by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), will be “ecosystem restoration,” with an emphasis on resetting our relationship with nature. It will also be the official start of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration, which will run from 2021 to 2030.
Only four people have been invited to the meeting, which will be chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan and will also include the Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN), the Pope, and the German Chancellor.
China was chosen to host the global summit on World Environment Day last year.
During the summit, the prime minister will discuss the Billion Tree Tsunami project, Clean Green Pakistan, electric vehicle policy, national parks, green employment, and other climate change initiatives undertaken by the incumbent government.
