On Monday, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) released its 2019 tax directory for lawmakers, revealing that former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani paid no tax in the same year, whereas Prime Minister Imran Khan paid Rs9.8 million.
The directory, according to the paper, was compiled from tax returns filed physically and electronically up until January 3.
“This data only includes income and tax disclosed in returns filed to the FBR and does not include agricultural income tax paid to provinces, sales tax, federal excise duty, and so on,” according to the statement.
Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin stated in the foreword that the FBR has been producing the directory for the past six years.
