Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has introduced a Rs50 billion relief plan for household electricity users consuming up to 200 units per month. From July through September, these consumers will experience stable rates of 4 to 7 rupees per unit, without any increase. This initiative is set to benefit around 25 million households, including those using K-Electric services.
The aim of this relief package is to ease the financial strain caused by recent increases in electricity tariffs approved by the federal cabinet. The government stresses the importance of tackling corruption as a critical step towards resolving economic challenges in the country.
