Saudi Arabia and UAE Landmarks Light Up Green for Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day

Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day was marked with a special display of friendship as major landmarks in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates were illuminated in Pakistan’s national green.

In the UAE, the iconic Burj Khalifa turned green at midnight, creating a striking tribute to Pakistan on August 14. The celebration was also seen in Saudi Arabia, where the Kingdom Towers were lit up in the same national colour.

The gesture highlighted the close ties shared by Pakistan with both Saudi Arabia and the UAE. The illuminated landmarks provided a visible symbol of goodwill and added an international touch to Pakistan’s Independence Day celebrations.

For Pakistanis at home and abroad, the displays offered a memorable way to mark the country’s national day. The green lights across two prominent Gulf landmarks also reflected the strong connections between Pakistan and its regional partners.

The celebrations brought Pakistan’s Independence Day to the world’s attention through some of the region’s most recognisable landmarks, turning the occasion into a shared moment of friendship and celebration.
